Tyrolean Chalet

When it comes to luxury homes in Vail, it’s no wonder that Tyrolean Chalet is the most coveted residence in the Valley.

The stunning, bespoke chalet is a piece of Vail’s history, as the residence is the converted Tyrolean Restaurant, a family institution in Vail for more than 33 years. Tyrolean Chalet was renovated into a modern and chic 5,800 sq. ft., four-bedroom, six-bathroom premier private home and is located in Vail Village right off the gold medal waters of Gore Creek. Tyrolean Chalet is truly a breathtaking, sophisticated and timeless property.

Renovated by designing duo Yvonne Jacobs and Melissa Dombroski, Tyrolean Chalet’s interior design features sought-after furnishings and top-tier brands including Baker, Bradley, Century, Hickory, David Iatesta, Rosemary Hallgarten, and Urban Electric. The designers lightened up the chalet with a very simple, but elegant and textural color palette, and incorporated a new contemporary look that gave the space an open and inviting atmosphere.

Before

“The home was very dark and the lighting was terrible,” said Yvonne Jacobs, interior designer, Slifer Design. “The dark wood walls were all working against each other. The home was

furnished in leathers – which just blended into the brown wood. And the palette was ‘dusty’ – nothing really jumped out at you.”

To further create an elegant and renewed residence, Tyrolean Chalet blends artful esthetics with mountain comfort, and features notable artwork – local photographer Michael Crabtree’s piece, “Trees in Mist,” is featured in the dining area, and, in the living room, “Snow Light” by Matt Rogers, an oil on canvas, is the prominent piece over the fireplace. In addition, the home’s baby alpaca ombre window treatments expresses an element of contemporary design, but without the heaviness of traditional window coverings.
