When you move anywhere, often it’s hard to jump in and get involved. There are plenty of fun things to do in Eagle, Avon and Vail but not all of it is conducive to meeting and connecting with people in your community. A great way to get involved and meet locals is to participate in events like the 2nd Annual Fiesta Fun Run on May 15th, in Eagle, where the proceeds for this walk/run are to build a playground for Eagle Valley Elementary School. Even if you do not have children that attend this school, it’s good to be involved with your local school and this is an easy way. Plus- besides the walk/run, there is food, face painting, live music and more so take your kids or grand-kids to this fun event!
Don’t forget that at higher altitudes staying hydrated is even more important than ever. If you are new to the area be sure to drink lots of water before and after any exercise. It also takes more to effort to bring in oxygen so take it easy and let yourself acclimatize. Even the most avid runner can be affected if they have only trained at lower altitudes. There will be plenty of time to explore and be active!
